Dealing With Procrastination
The simple way to deal with procrastination is to deal with whatever issue or goal you have right then and there!
Now, for the rest of us!
With any to do list or subject to do list people will procrastinate from day one. To me procrastination is composed of three things:
Fear
A Lack of Self-Motivation
and
Inertia
People will see something they have been wanting to do or buy say on TV. Or something they have been wanting to do to turn their live around like working out. But some people wait years to finally start working on that goal. And then when they start, they kick themselves for having "putt off" the success that is finally theirs.
Or they go ahead and take the plunge and starting working out right away on that goal. They buy the shoes, the workout clothes and get all ready to go and actually do it! Then when the time comes, something comes up each and every time and you have a new excuse as to why you haven't started working on your goal. But when something happens in their life to motivate them to start the goal they planned, they are mad at themselves for putting off what ultimately gives them mental security and joy. They wonder why they waited so long and regret those lost months or years of waiting.
Then there are those that make their goal to accomplish something, study it, start it, but can't make themselves stay on that routine. After several attempts to change their old habits to complete some goals, they give up.
Again, procrastination is usually composed of three things: Fear, A Lack of Self Motivation, and inertia.
Fear because it's a little scary to take the first step
A Lack of Self-Motivation because there's definitely some work and commitment involved
Inertia because it's always easier to stay with the "status quo"
The solution to procrastination is to just get moving. You'll be glad you did, believe me.
